REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will board a commercial plane on his return agenda to Surakarta City, Central Java, Sunday (20/10/2024) after the end of the week.
“That's right. Boarding a commercial plane from Halim,” said Minister of Communications and Informatics (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi when confirmed in Jakarta, Wednesday (16/10/2024) afternoon WIB.
His planned return to Solo was taken by Jokowi via Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in East Jakarta, Budi said, on Sunday, after President Prabowo Subianto's inauguration at 15:00pm. When asked about what kind of commercial airline Jokowi would use, Budi Arie mentioned Citilink or Garuda airlines. “If you're not mistaken, Citilink or Garuda,” he said.
It was reported that Minister of State (Mensesneg) Pratikno said that the Presidential Palace had prepared commercial airfare for Jokowi after the inauguration agenda of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as President and Vice President of RI in the period 2024-2029. Pratikno made that point when responding to Jokowi's request that he fly straight to Solo.
Pratikno also said that Jokowi will still get the Paspampres security even though he is no longer the President of the Republic of Indonesia. It is already set out in legislation.
