REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Looking at the current situation in Gaza and the aftermath of Yahya Sinwar being killed by Israeli soldiers not long ago, the Indonesian Ulema Assembly (MUI) calls on all Muslims to close ranks (saf).

MUI Chair for Foreign Relations, Prof Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim, reiterated that Israel will not stop the genocide against civil society in Gaza and the total destruction of Gaza.

This was also confirmed by Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu in a statement shortly after the martyrdom of Yahya Sinwar.

In fact, according to him, Israel, fully supported by the United States, has killed global humanity and destroyed international law and world civilization. He also called Israel and the United States a country devoid of conscience and common sense.

“In connection with this, I would like to again convey and call on all Muslims to close ranks or saf to continue praying for God's protection against the citizens of Gaza,” Prof. Sudarnoto said in a written statement received by Republika.co.id on Friday (25/10/2024).

According to him, the prayer should continue to be extended in mosques, mushola in Friday prayers and in various other religious events. Not only that, according to him, humanitarian aid must also continue to be encouraged through legitimate and credible institutions.
