REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia offers Syria to hold informal way to build peace among warring parties in the country.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Marty Natalegawa said it was breakdown process of determined organization in Geneva Conference II to discuss peace efforts in Syria. Informal process will allow warring parties, government and opposition groups to establish mutual trust so that impasse in peace talks can end.
"We want to prioritize informal efforts and try to create mutual trust. It does not exist right now, " Natalegawa said after bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister of Syria, Walid Mualem recently.
After meeting, Muallem appreciated ideas and initiatives such as those were delivered by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono through letter to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad .
" We are always open to Indonesia . You are welcome to come to Syria like a second home," said Muallem .
In other development, the United States asked Indonesian readiness to send peacekeeping troops to Syria. The force will be needed to secure chemical weapons disarmament.
