King urges Thais to perform duties for national benefits

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANGKOK -- Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Thursday morning urged all Thais to perform their duties for the country's interests, stability and unity.

In an address delivered on his 86th birthday, the king said Thailand has been peaceful and blissful because people are united and love the country.

He asked every Thai to perform their duties to promote benefits, stability and safety of the entire nation.

The live broadcast birthday ceremony was held at the Rajapracha Samakhom Pavillion of Klai Kanwon Palace in Hua Hin.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra represented the government and the people to wish the king a happy birthday and expressed gratitude for his work for the country.
