REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Australian Embassy is calling for applications for the 2015 Australia-Indonesia Muslim Exchange Program (MEP), according to a press statement sent to Republika on Friday, November 21.

Australian Ambassador for Indonesia, Greg Moriarty, is encouraging young Indonesian Muslim leaders to apply for the chance to represent Indonesia in Australia and to learn more about Australia’s multicultural society.

“This is an important chance for young Muslims in Indonesia to promote interfaith understanding, cooperation and mutual respect and celebrate the diversity of both countries,” Moriarty said.

“The program comprises of two groups of young Indonesians travelling to Australia for two weeks during the first half of 2015. They will visit Muslim communities and organisations, as well as take part in Australian cultural activities,” he said.
