REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Nahdlatul Ulama regional board (PWNU) has ordered nahdliyin (NU followers) in the Jakarta to make the results of bahtsul masa'il at the 30th congress as a reference in order to vote Muslim candidate as a leader.
NU instruction was aimed for internal organization. "It's not about to vote or prohibit non-Muslims candidate, but we made the statement here is to vote Muslim candidate as leader," said Deputy Chairman of Jakarta PWNU, Samsul Maarif told Republika.co.id, Wednesday (2/11).
He explained that these directives come form the internal direction to nahdliyin. It was also in accordance with decisions in congress 30th in Lirboyo, East Java. Therefore, when a problem occurred, board through masa'il bahtsul institution provided advice to nahdliyyin.
The goal aimed to be the best results for the Indonesian citizens. PWNU always upholding unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). "Anyone who will win the election, all of us must appreciate the result," Samsul said.
PWNU also said that the elections process protected by the constitution. Therefore, nahdliyin in Jakarta must to support it. PWNU also still remain neutral institutionally.
PWNU urged to all the team of candidates for Jakarta governor and deputy governor and all elements of society to maintain security and stability, not creating black campaign.
