REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Attack to preacher reoccured. Another case happened in Bumi Sawangan Indah Residences, Depok, West Java early on Sunday (March 11).

The victim, ustaz Abdurrahman, was stabbed in the neck by an alleged mentally ill woman known by her initial Vi, 28.  

Ustaz Abdurrahman was attacked after performing congregational Fajr or dawn prayers at Darul Mustaqin mosque. According to Bobi, one of residents, a day before the incident Vi came to the mosque and asked questions about three preachers, among other ustaz Abdurrahman.

"She even visited the ustaz Abdurrahman's house on Sunday around 00:03 West Indonesian Standard Time," he said to Republika.co.id at Darul Mustaqin Mosque.

Bobi did not believe Vi suffered psychiatric disorder. Vi prepared the knife and chose the time to attack. She did not attack in random.

According to Bobi, Vi seemed to wait for ustaz Abdurrahman who came late to the mosque. "When we said takbir to perform Fajr prayer, she stabs ustaz Abdurrahman in the neck. She knows it's a vulnerable point (to cause a death)," he said.

Ustaz Abdurrahman was rushed to Depok General Hospital and got some stitches. He has been realased from the hospital.

"I think there is possibility if there is someone who want to use people with mental disorders. I hope police can reveal this case, because the others could become victims," ustaz Abdurrahman said.

The police have taken the assailant to Police Hospital, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta. Depok Police chief Didik Sugiarto said the suspicion of Vi having mental disorder came from local residents. "She will undergo psychiatric test in Police Hospital," he explained.

Earlier, Earlier, National Police Archipleago Task Force (Satgas Nusantara) head, Insp. Gen. Gatot Eddy Pramono said there were three real incidents from 45 cases related to alleged violent attacks on ulemas and religious leaders. He asserted 42 other cases were fake news. He did not find any correlation between cases.
