REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KARACHI – The activists of Global March to Jerusalem (GMJ) are traveling to the next country, Iran. They departed from the base camp in Gulshan e-maymar, North Karachi, Pakistan, by land, as reported by Nashih Nashrullah, journalist of Republika.

The team, consist of 40 Indonesian, Pakistan, Indian, Malaysia, Philippine activists. Initially, they planned to go to Iran through Rasoopur-Kheirpur-Sibbi and stayed in Quetta, a city in Balochistan Province. However, due to the safety reason, the plan was changed and the team will move directly to Zahedan, Iran. “We will not stay in Quetta,” The Head of Pakistan GMJ, Sabir Karbalai, said on Wednesday. With the plan changing, the convoy needs 24 hour to reach Zahedan.

In 2010, the humanitarian convoy of Caravan to Gaza -similar mission with GMJ- were crossing Quetta when their cars were bombed. Some activists died and no one knows the culprit responsible for the incident until today. Our journalist reported, the travel had been smoothly without any delays nor distractions since them team departed last Friday. They flew from Jakarta to Singapore, then went to Katunayake, Colombo, Sri Langka before going to Karachi.
