REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Superstorm Sandy that hits US does not affect Indonesian export to US, Indonesian Ministry of Trade says. The data says the export value from Indonesia to US until August 2012 reaches 12.2 billion USD.

So far, about 3.24 billion USD of the export enters US through Eastern US, such as New York and Washington DC. "The number is equal to 26.5 percent of Indonesian export to US," the Vice Minister of Trade Bayu Krisnamurthi said on Friday.

Most of Indonesian exports enter US from New York with the value up to 1.64 billion USD. The export destination is followed by Savannah and North Fork with 890 million USD and 533 million USD. Rubber and its products dominate the export at 1.2 billion USD, trailed by shrimp at 305 million USD and printer at 203 million USD.

"We believe that economic activity in US will rebounce," he said then expressed his deep sympathy and condolences to the victims of Sandy.
