REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) designs new programs with an emitent to seek more investors. IDX sets the target to have two million investors by 2015.
"The program will be launched this year," Director of Development, Friedericka Widyasari, said on Tuesday. IDX currently still discuss the unnamed program.
The program is adopted by similar program conducted in neighboring countries, such as Singapore and Malaysia. Last year, they conducted cooperation with a company to seek emitents as they lacked of local investors.
IDX has 400,000 local investors. But only 180 of them have Customer Fund Account (RDN).
An IDX program launched on December 2012 called Gemilang Investa Bursa, which offers prizes for investors who attract new people to invest in the capital market, have attracted 17,000 single investor identity (SID). Widyasari hopes more investors will invest in Indonesian capital market.
