REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, GORONTALO - Government will issue a patent for pinogu coffee indigenous to Bone Bolango Village of Gorontalo to prevent claim row with any other parties.
"The legal status is important to protect our commodity," the Head of Legal Service Department at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Gorontalo, Alexander Palti, said on Friday.
As an institution that serves the registration of rights and intellectual property, Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights will list and identify potential products in the region. "Of course the product should have a distinction and high economic value, such as pinogu coffee," Palti said.
Regional government is promoting pinogu coffee to other regions and countries. Palti said ministry was ready to help Bone Bolango Regional Government to protect the product.
