REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian state-owned airline, Garuda Indonesia, will take delivery of 24 new aircraft to complete its fleet. Under its program called Quantum Leap, it plans to increase its fleet to 194 aircraft in 2015.
Executive Director of Garuda Indonesia, Emirsyah Satar, said the new aircraft comprised four Boeing 777-300 ER, three Airbus A330, ten Boeing 737-800NG and seven Bombardier CRJ1000 Nextgen.
In 2013, Garuda Indonesia plans to open 13 new domestic routes, including Bandung-Denpasar, Denpasar-Balikpapan, Batam-Pekanbaru, Balikpapan-Banjarmasin, Balikpapan-Manado, Balikpapan-Berau, Jakarta-Bengkulu, Jakarta-Tanjung Pandan, and Jakarta-Tanjung Pinang. It will also open new international routes, such as Jakarta-London, Medan-Penang, Surabaya-Singapore, Denpasar-Bangkok, Denpasar-Brisbane, and Denpasar-Kuala Lumpur.
Through its cooperation with Etihad Airways, Garuda serves international flight to Frankfurt, Brussels, Milan, Dusseldorf, Munich, and Bahrain, which was started in January 2013.
