Indonesian Cement to boost production this year

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - National largest cement producer, PT Semen Indonesia or Indonesian Cement targets to increase production to five million tons in 2013 or higher than 2.3 million tons in 2012. The additional volume will come from its new subsidiary, the Thang Long Cement Joint Stock Company in Vietnam.

"We will get additional volume by 2.3 million tons from our subsidiary in Vietnam," President Director Indonesian Cement, Dwi Soetjipto said on Thursday. Thang Long Cement will produce four tons cements this year.

The company will also expand its network to Myanmar to fulfill its production target. Soetjipto said that company had two options, building a new factory or acquiring an existing factory there. the options are still under consideration among the company's shareholders. The company built two new factories in domestic, Tuban 4 and Tonasa 5 which was expected to produce this year.
