REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), an association of mobile communication devices industry in the world demonstrated their concern over corruption court's ruling against leadership of Indosat's subsidiary, IM2.
Director of GSMA, Anne Bouverot said representatives of 219 countries on 800 mobile operators and 200 telecommunications equipment company had sent a letter to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Wednesday. The letter aims to show their concern on the impacts and the future of their telecommunication business here.
"We concern over the impacts of court's verdict to former president director of IM2," Bouverot said during a press conference in Jakarta, referring to former president director of IM2, Indar Atmanto.
Bouverot said that letter was made public through official website of GSMA's page. She mentioned that letter asked the President to build a constructive dialogue between law enforcement authorities in telecommunication industry in order to find solutions for such problem of IM2.
Previously, Atmanto is sentenced to four years in prison by Corruption Court and fined of 200 million IDR or serving three months in prison. The court also ordered Indosat to pay fine of 1.3 trillion IDR.
