REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian film workers now have nine professional association that will protect and promote their profession declared on September 2, 2013 and witnessed by Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Mari Elka Pangestu.
Those associations are Indonesian Film Directors Club (IFDC) which is chaired by Lasja Susatyo, Rumah Aktor Indonesia (RAI) is chaired by Lukman Sardi for actor and Indonesian Motion Picture and Audio Association (Impact) is chaired by Tya Subiyaktyo for sound and music illustration.
Next, Penulis Indonesia untuk Layar Lebar (Pilar) is chaired by Perdana Kartawiyudha for screenwriters, Asosiasi Produser Sinema Indonesian Cinema (APSI) is chaired by Dewi Umay for producers. Sinematografer Indonesia (SI) is chaired by Agni Ariapratama for cameramen, as well as Indonesia Film Editors (INAFED) chaired Sastha Sunu for editors.
There are also Indonesian Production Designer (IPD) chaired by Adrianto Sinaga for art directors and Asosiasi Casting Indonesia (ACI) chaired by Bowie Budianto for casting directors. All associations are under the umbrella of Indonesian Motion Picture and Audio Assosiation (Impas).
"Our main goal is to unite and improve Indonesian film industry," Chairman of Impact Tya Subiaktyo said recently.
While Lukman Sardi explained this association aimed to develop Indonesian movie. Mari Elka Pangestu also welcomes establishment of this association.
"To realize the dream, we all have to collaborate and work well together. It is not easy but I'm optimistic because today we come together from different viewpoints but share the same dream to make Indonesian film better," said Pangestu.
