REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, GRESIK -- State owned fertilizer producer, PT Petrokimia Gresik (PKG) has distributed 288 tonnes of subsidized fertilizer or 72 percent of total target until January 2014. President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Hidayat Nyakman said that total target of 401 thousand tonnes based on Regulation of Agricultural Ministry No. 122/2013.
"Petrokimia Gresik has channeled subsidized fertilizer of 4.5 million tonnes," Hidayat said recently.
The subsidized fertilizer consists of urea (193 thousand tonnes, ZA (800 thousand tonnes), SP-36 (760 thousand tonnes), phonska (2 million tonnes) and petroganik (800 thousand tonnes). The distribution also based on plan compiled by group of farmers throughout Indonesia.
This program needs to be supported through gubernatorial and regent regulation who announced total allocation for fertilizer requirements. Nyakman hopes the distribution can run smoothly and not having problems.
There are just 15 out of 475 districts and cities that have made local regulation regarding fertilizer distribution in Indonesia. Nyakman admitted that the fertilizer allocation in last two years steadily decreasing due to revision of subsidized budget following IDR weakness against USD. However, fertilizer producers must keep serving farmers needs.
