REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta deputy governor candidate Sandiaga Uno has urged his supporters not revenge due to allegations from Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) which accused him not paying taxes. He committed running democracy without invective.
Sandiaga told his supporter not to attack Ahok. Let's escort him to the end of his governship with esteem, with no accusations. Don't vote for him, it' will be enough," he said in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/10).
He had to explained to many parties due to allegations not paying tax after he followed the tax amnesty program. However, he did not want to make it as problem.
Sandiaga said, following the tax amnesty program does not mean the person was not paying taxes. Tax amnesty as government policy contributed of tax recognition. And, this program already protected by laws.
Sandiaga is running for deputy governor accompanying Anies Baswedan as Jakarta governor candidate. The Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) supports them.
Meanwhile, Ahok-Djarot Saiful Hidayat are the incumbent supported by the Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), National Democratic Party, the Golkar Party, and the People's Conscience Partu (Hanura)
