REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) could pick one of three options on the table on Prosperous Justice Party’s (PKS) fate, a political analyst, Ari Dwipayana, said on Saturday. Among the three options, SBY could either sack three or one PKS’ ministers from the cabinet.
Secondly, the analyst from Gadjah Mada University (UGM) continued, PKS could stay within the coalition. Yet, its political aspiration would be limited to a certain degree.
“And the last option, PKS is omitted from the secretariat of ruling coalition (Setgab),” he said during a discussion.
Nevertheless, Democrat Party must bear a setback once SBY decides to cut PKS from coalition. Among others, the consequence is political melodramatic or decreasing support in parliament. The former scenario, Dwipayana explained, public would consider PKS was victimized by the Setgab due to its rejection to rise the fuel price. In this case, PKS would gain more support from public.
While on the later scenario, Dwipayana added, nobody could predict Golkar maneuver after PKS was removed from the coalition. Golkar could walk out from the coalition and the maneuver would deal a blow to Democrat Party’s position in parliament.
