REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Political talks and problems hampered Indonesian development, Minister of State-owned Entreprises Dahlan Iskan said. "Everyday from dawn to dust, we are talking about politics," he said on Monday.

Iskan said people in developed countries did not talk about politics all day. "They are working hard during the day and playing hard during night," Iskan said.

Iskan said that he was optimistic Indonesia would be developed if the people talked less about politics. "It would be better if they worked hard," he said.

However, Iskan said that Indonesia was a best place to live. "Some of my friends who live abroad have a lot of money, but they confess that they prefer to live in Indonesia," he said. "They have to wash their clothes and clean their house by themselves, while in Indonesia, they can have many maids," he added.
