REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, NUSA DUA - The newly elected Chairman of Democratic Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), appoints Syarif Hasan as an executive chairman of the party. SBY explained on Sunday morning that executive chairman had strategic function.

"His duty is to carry out the tasks of party's chairman," he said during the announcement. It means that Hasan will conduct policies made by high assembly and the party's chairman.

SBY also appoints Marzuki Alie as Deputy Chief of High Assembly of Democratic Party and EE Mangindaan as the Chief of Advisory Board. "Therefore, the party can work well. I will also prioritize my governmental duties," he said.
