REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Yenny Wahid, the daughter of 4th Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid, explained on Tuesday that she would not join the ruling party, Democratic Party, after speculation had been lingered since since two weeks ago. She also wrote her decision on tweeter on Monday.
"I decided not to join Democratic Party. I have considered it," Yenny said. Yenny who also Chairman of Indonesian National Sovereignty New Party (PKBIB) expressed her gratitude to Chairman of Democratic Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and all members of the party.
Despite the cancellation of joining Democratic Party, Yenny hopes the party will reform its reputation. "Hopefully, Democratic Party will be more focus to fight for society," she said.
Earlier, some elites Democratic Party confirmed that Yenny would joined them. Chief Executive of Democratic Party, Syarif Hasan even said Yenny potentially to become vice chairman of Democratic Party.
