REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DEPOK - Police sector of Cimanggis, Depok, West Java secured seven Afghans on Sunday. They failed to their show passports.
Chief Police Operating Officer, Commissioner Suratno said seven Afghans were Nawidullah (17 years old), Barat Ali (44), Sayid Hussin (32), Lamussandu (32), Adnan Hussain (22), Zahid Hussain (28) and Sajid Abbas (30).
"Initially, police stopped red car with police number F1580UJ and driven by Toni Rahman, at M Goni Street at Harjamukti village, Cimanggis, Depok. The passengers inside looked overcrowded," he said on Monday.
At first they seemed incooperative during the first police interrogation. Only later they explaine that they wanted to meet some officials at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). They obtained an official letter from the UNHCR valid on May 2-July 5, 2013. But the letter was just a copy.
Earlier, 14 illegal immigrants from Afghanistan secured in Pelabuhanratu port in Sukabumi district, Sukabumi, West Java. These illegal immigrants were detained when they were crossing to Christmas Island, Australia via Sukabumi water.
