REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Norwegian oil company, Statoil has completed seismic survey of six thousand kilometres (km) in 2nd Halmahera block. This seismic survey was part of fulfillment of Production Sharing Contract (PSC) in 2nd Halmahera.
"We will conduct data processing and data interpretation to determine potential of oil and gas in the region," Head of Communications and Protocol at Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas), Agus Budiyanto said on Monday.
2D seismic acquisition work is running about three months with no injuries or accidents. Statoil is operator of 2nd Halmahera block and owns 80 percent shares, while Niko Resources owns the rest 20 percent. But potential oil reserves cannot yet be ascertained as Statoil still perform data processing and data interpretation.
