REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Democratic Party questioned the Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI) independency in measuring the electability level and performance of each party. Therefore, the ruling party did not make a survey involving LSI as a benchmark.

LSI new survey predicted a gloomy future for Democratic Party, which was expected to gain less than 5 percent of the national vote in 2014 legislative election. The ruling party will only receive 4.7 percent of the vote, drop from 20.5 percent in 2009 legislative election.

"LSI result cannot be used as a benchmark as the Jakarta-based pollster is not an independent institution," Democratic Party Spokesman, Ikhsan Modjo said on Monday.

Modjo said that LSI often supported the capital owners' interests. He reminded that LSI published the similar result in 2009 election, but it was totally wrong. Democratic Party was more confident to run legislative election in 2014.

Democratic Party internal survey showed that there was an improvement in electability of the party though still not meets the expectation. Modjo said that Democratic cadres remained focus to carry out their duties.
