REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Chief Executive of Democratic Party, Sjarifuddin Hasan said that the party would announce convention result of presidential candidate and his pair in April 2014. The party decided to announce the convention result after legislative election.

"Wait until the end of April 2014, then we will announce the result," Hasan said on weekend.

Hasan said that the party was considering the legislative election as a good way to learn the people's expectation of their leader to be. The party's convention has been followed by some figures from different background from military, academics, politician including incumbent and former ministers. 

Hasan admitted that popularity and electability of majority participants in the convention was low, but the popularity was not main factor to determine success. He underlined that a leader must have capability and capacity.

Eleven figures participate in Democratic Party's convention. They are Anies Baswedan, Sinyo Harry Sarundajang, Pramono Edi Wibowo, Dino Patti Djalal, Endriartono Sutarto, Dahlan Iskan, Ali Maskur Musa, Marzuki Ali, Gita Wirjawan, Irman Gusman, and Haryono Isman.
