REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIREBON -- One of programs that will be carried out by presidential candidate No. 2, Joko Widodo (popularly known as Jokowi) if he is elected as the next president is the development of double track railway in all paths in Indonesia. Jokowi said that the double track railway will accelerate development of underdeveloped areas.

"The double track railway will boost logistic distribution, coal transportation, also agricultural products in all paths," Jokowi said on Wednesday.

Logistic distribution will be more efficient in terms of costs, so that the price will be cheaper. Former Solo mayor also commented about double track development in north and southern part of Java, which took many years. According to him, it happens due to poor management and some problems of land acquisition. Land acquisition problems can be solved by direct dialogue with local residents.

"The most important thing, we must come down to location. We must tell local people that this project aims to public interests and we explain what the problem is," Jokowi added.

Jakarta governor said that he had implemented such strategy in several projects in Jakarta, such as highway and toll road project of Tanjung Priok and JORR W2. JORR W2 toll road project has been started since 15 years ago, but it has not been completed due to land acquisition problem. Jokowi completed the land acquisition only in four months.
