REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The General election Commission (KPU) has decided Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo as the winner of presidential election this year. The difference of total votes between Jokowi and Prabowo Subianto reached five percent, from previous projection of two percent.

Former chairman of Prabowo's campaign team, Mahfud MD recognized that there was a change in the end of campaign. In fact, the team was very optimistic on winning Prabowo and Hatta Rajasa due to the increase of the electability.

"We sure could win this competition, but then there was a change in last minutes," Mahfud said recently.

Mahfud refused to explain what factors caused it. After KPU's announcement, Mahfud felt like a failure in delivering Prabowo-Hatta as the next president and vice president. Former head of Constitutional Court then returned his position to Prabowo's team.

However, Mahfud confirmed that he remained in Prabowo's side. He promised to keep support the Red and White Coalition.
