Pandu says BW's case to be re-examined next week

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Bambang Widjojanto (BW) finally released from police custody.

He was seen freed from Police Criminal Investigation building at around 01.30 pm, Saturday (24/1).

Previoulsly, Deputy Chairman Adnan Pandu Pradja hinted that BW will be released tonight.

"Mr. BW will go home tonight," Adnan said Police Criminal Investigation building, Jakarta, early on Saturday.

He added, BW's case examination will resume next week. "Examination will be continued next week," he said.

The statement was given after they met Deputy Chief of Police Commissioner General Badrodin Haiti on Saturday morning.

Two KPK officials Zulkarnaen and Adnan Pandu Pradja visit to Police Headquarters on Friday (23/1) night.

"We want to meet Deputy Chief to inquire about the afternoon Deputy Chief decision to release Bambang, but why the arrest happened," Zulkarnaen said at Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Friday (23/1) night.

In addition to the two KPK leaders, former KPK leader Chandra Hamzah and a number of members of Human Rights Commission were also seen to accompany them.
