REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- PT Pertamina (Persero) officially launched pertalite in Bali. This was the second phase in Pertalite sales. In the first phase, Pertamina was sold pertalite in Jakarta, Bandung (West Java) and Surabaya (East Java).
"After this, we will also sold pertalite in Central Java and in its surrounding areas," said Marketing Director of Pertamina, Ahmad Bambang, in Denpasar, Sunday (9/8).
Pertalite is a fuel with Research Octane Number (RON) 90. Pertalite is sold in Bali at Rp 8,400 per liter. It is below the pertamax price but above the premium price. This type of fuel is considered as good for engine vehicles, than premium quality which has RON 88.
Ahmad hoped pertalite could be the answer to the question of consumers who want good quality fuel with an affordable price. The results of evaluation and monitoring in the first phase showed that in 115 gas stations in the three cities, pertalite contributed 13 percent of total fuel sales.
It was caused by the consumers who were changed from pertalite to premium. The sales of premium was reduced from 76 percent to 66 percent. Pertamax sales remained at 16 percent. Pertamina is targeting 500 gas station in Java can sell pertalite in the end of this year.
