REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his wife, Iriana Joko Widodo, attended the summit of the National Children's Day 2015 that was held in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace in Bogor, Tuesday (11/8). The National Children's Day 2015 celebration was held from around 09.00 pm.
The celebration was also attended by Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection Yohana Susana Yembise, Minister of Communication and Information Rudiantara, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said, Minister of Justice and Human Rights Yasona Laoly, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affair Minister Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno, Coordoinating Human Development and Culture Minister Puan Maharani, Minister of Education Anies Baswedan, Attorney General M Prasetyo, and also the Vice President’s wife, Mufidah Kalla.
"All children in Indonesia are our children. We have resposibilities to guarantee that there will be no discrimination and violence against them,” said Minister Yohana Yembise.
She said that love for children should start from a harmonious family life and affection towards children.
The National Children's Day 2015 was followed by 2,500 children. The President will also give awards for cities and schools that were friendly for children.
