REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDA ACEH -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla said the Archipelago Day was the beginning of Indonesian maritime progress. Maritime progress and sovereignty in Aceh was inseparable from its mineral resources.

"In a short time we will explore oil and in Aceh by Exxon," said Kalla in commemorate of Archipelago Day, Lampulo Port, Banda Aceh, Sunday (13/12).

Oil exploration, said Kalla, has to be used in the interests of Aceh people in line with the new mining law. Biggest exploration of oil and gas would be conducted in North Aceh.

Indonesian people should certainly take advantage of the resources as well as possible. He hoped people are not just watching, but taking benefits to use it.
