REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The National Police are still investigating gay mobile applications that was used by male prostitution ring that offered minors to gay.
Head of the national police`s public information bureau, Brigadier General Agus Rianto said police are still investigating the mastermind behind the gay applications, including the gay app creator.
"That's why we are investigating elements in our laws, especially Electronic Information and Transaction (ITE)," he said, on Tuesday (13/9).
Nevertheless, he said to block gay application is the authority of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo).
Meanwhile, Child Protection Agency (LPA) chairman, Seto Mulyadi, has urged the government to immediately block dozens of the gay applications in cyberspace. Those gay app are considered threatening and have negative impact on children.
"It's very dangerous. Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo) should block it as soon as possible," he said at the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) office, Senayan, South Jakarta, Tuesday (13/9).
Seto urged relevant institutions, such as the Ministry of Social Affairs, Kemendikbud, Kemenkominfo to improve coordination in protecting Indonesian children.
"Lack of coordination among the ministries and less action," Seto said.
He warned, children are the best imitators. Thus, dozens of gay app which is spreads in social media will impact significantly for children. He believed, if the gay applications have been implemented and part of the character of the children, in the next few years will be something terrible.
"Do not be surprised if later emerged new gay that affect the next generation," Seto said.
According to him, blocking gay applications is equally important with radical website due to related with deviant behavior.
