REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MASAMBA -- Agricultural Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman was ready to implement all recommendations given by Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He had also discussed it with the chairman and deputy chairman of KPK to get advices related to potencial corruption in palm oil plantation.
"We have arranged (regulation) and have been working on it," said Andi when visiting palm oil plantation in PT Perkebunan Sawit XIV in East Luwu, South Sulawesi, on Wednesday (April 26).
He said there were 2.7 million hectares of palm oil plantation in Indonesia. The ministry cooperated with KPK to avoid any potential corruption.
According to Andi, the palm oil plantation on productive forest areas would make the businessmen be released from tax of state forestry. "This is an urgent problem," he said.
Many companies had not met 20 percents of plasma agreement from the total of companies. Amran claimed to have asked the Director General of Plantation to follow up or resolve it.
Andi also appealed the companies to involve the people in managing the plantation. He promised to protect the companies which involve the people and to increace their welfare. "Involve the people. People are our power," said him.
Andi said togetherness was the key to make peaceful society and the conflict between the businessmen and the people. All the problems should be disscussed.
In KPK study in 2016, there were no regulation related to integrated management. It potentially to did not meet the sustainability.
KPK also recommended Agricultural Ministry and other related ministry to make better commodity management system of siustainable palm oil plantation.
