REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- State-owned airport operator firm PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) is preparing to offer incentives to airlines offering additional domestic flights during the post-fasting Lebaran (Eid al-Fitr) festivities next month.
President Director of AP II Muhammad Awaluddin stated in Jakarta on Tuesday that the facilities to be given to airlines providing additional flights are in the form of free landing fee and a 50 percent cut in the extension of the operating hour cost.

The incentives will also be provided for the use of narrow-bodied aircraft. If the airlines operate narrow-bodied aircraft, such as Boeing 737-800 NG or Airbus A320, for additional flights at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, they will no longer have to pay the landing service charge.

"We will provide these incentives to support the smooth operations of flights at airports under the management of AP II during the Lebaran transportation period," Awaluddin remarked.
He said the 50 percent reduction in the extension of the operating hour cost is intended to encourage airlines to operate additional flights apart from the regular schedules of their domestic flights.
"This is also an effort to overcome traffic congestion during Lebaran's peak season," he added.
