REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA –- Coordinating Minister of Politics, Law and Security Wiranto argued that Habib Muhammad Rizieq Shihab's request of reconciliation between National Movement to Safeguard Indonesian Council of Ulema's Fatwa (GNPF MUI) with the government was not appropriate. Reconciliation was only suitable for equivalent institutions.
“Reconciliation is a heavy term. It is between a state institution with another institution equivalent to government. It is reconciliation. There is no reconciliation between government and a civilian. The term is not right,” said Wiranto in Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday (June 20).
