REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Chairman of National Movement to Safeguard Indonesian Council of Ulema’s Fatwa (GNPF-MUI) Bachtiar Nasir said the dialog with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was not held immediately. He said it was a result of Muslims’s struggle at November 4, 2016 rally (411 rally).
"It was a big mistake for saying the meeting is happened in a sudden. This is a journey of 411,” he said in a press conference at AQL Islamic Center, Jakarta on Tuesday (June 27).

Bachtiar said, before the meeting with Jokowi, GNPF MUI had met the Minister of Religious Affairs, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin. At Eid al-Fitr night, the minister forwarded the submission to Coordinating Minister of Politics, Law, and Security Wiranto.
“We had also come to meet with vice president Jusuf Kalla three times, accompanied by the Coordinating Minister of Politics, Law, and Security. This is not a sudden,” said him.
The meeting, he said, discussed the people who feel gaps in justice and discrimination to Muslims. GNPF also had the visit to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr.
