Ranau Lake is located in Lumbok, Sukau, West Lampung. According to the folk tale, the lake was created from earthquake and volcano from Seminung Mount. Those events formed a big cavity. The river near the mount became water source for this cavity. Bushes and shrubbery called Ranau grew around the cavity. People then called it Ranau Lake.

Near Mount Seminung, hot spring water arises from the lake. Waterfalls named Subik is also found around the creek. Douche in the water and feel the relaxation. Another interesting place near the hot spring is Marisa Island.

The creek is specified for Seminung Lumbok Resort. On the way to the tourist area, you will pass Johor Hill. From this height, Ranau Lake can be seen entirely. The administrator of the tourism area provides paragliding from the hill. While paragliding, you can see the great view of Lake Ranau. The administrator also facilitates the tourists with jogging track to the nearest waterfall. The tourist can also stay in hotels close to the lake.

Then, how to get here? Take the plane to Radin Inten II Airport in Lampung then rent a minibus travel outside the airport. The price for rent is negotiable. You will go straight to the lake without any difficulty. If you prefer public transportation, you can take bus from Rajabasa terminal to Ranau. Tell the driver to drop you in Way Tanding. From Way Tanding, take the public transportation known as angkot to Seminung Hotel.
