REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Sandiaga Uno, the deputy governor of Jakarta, swam to Bidadari Island, Seribu Islands District, Jakarta, on Monday. Uno departed from Ancol Marina, North Jakarta, aboard a Hiu 5 boat and dove into the sea around 100 meters off Bidadari Island and swam along with four other people.
This is the second time that Uno has worked on Seribu Islands since he held the post of deputy governor over three months ago. Uno explained that he decided to swim as an exercise prior to the Lake Sunter Festival to be held on February 25, 2017.

The current was quite strong, he noted. "On Bidadari Island, the water is clean for swimming for those planning to participate in the Lake Sunter Festival with Mrs Susi (Pudjiastuti, maritime affairs and fisheries minister)," he noted.
Uno invited the public to visit Seribu Islands District, which is part of Jakarta's territory and comprises tens of scenic islands. Seribu Islands, or the One Thousand Islands, is a cluster of islands forming a splendid nautical getaway. Sandiaga planned Seribu Island as a wonderful place for culinary tour. "I suggest a culinary tour, lunch at Bidadari Island," he said.

Therefore, the government would prepare fulfillment of basic necessities to support the plan. Also, there was a suggestion to provide rented Betawi traditional clothing for visitor who wanted to experience the nuance of Seribu Island in the Dutch colonial era.
