REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA ----Golkar Party DPP Chairman Ace Hasan Syadzily said Ridwan Kamil or RK got the nomination for local elections (local elections) in West Java (Jabar) and DKI Jakarta. However, Ace admitted that he had spoken with RK and said he was more likely to come forward as a candidate for governor of West Java.

“Mr. Ridwan Kamil himself stated to me, he said that he was more inclined towards Jabar. So far,” Ace said at Nusantara II Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday (14/5/2024).

According to him, RK submitted the decision to the DPP of Golkar Party. RK follows the party's decision if he is indeed commissioned to come forward as a candidate for governor of DKI Jakarta. “Because the policy on determining who will later be nominated in DKI Jakarta depends on the extent to which other parties also determine their candidate for governor. So we'll just see the dynamics,” Ace said.

Golkar Party itself will definitely establish communication with other political parties for the elections in Jabar and DKI Jakarta. The party emblazoned with the banyan tree is also considering the electability of its three cadres assigned forward in Jakarta.

“Of course, DKI is considered very strategic, not only for Golkar, but for other parties who are interested in development in Jakarta. Because we know that although the capital will move to IKN, it is Jakarta as a region that has strategic value,” Ace said.

“For us, of course, we will leave everything to DPP Golkar and Ketum,” said the Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII of the Parliament.
