REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) together with the National Nutrition Agency prepared a special scheme related to access to capital for entrepreneurs and SMEs involved in the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. He explained that there are 46 banks distributing KUR under the coordination of the Ministry of MSMEs, and 4 of them are part of Himpunan Bank Negara (Himbara).

The four banks are planned to be involved in a capital grant scheme to MSMEs for Free Nutritious Meals. “We have coordinated with Himbara Bank, God willing, a special scheme will be prepared to provide relief or as provided with initial financing first,” said MSME Minister Maman Abdurrahman in Jakarta, Saturday (25/1/2025).

Through access to capital that is being built by the government, in this case the Ministry of SMEs, BGN, and Himbara, Maman hopes to be able to ease the capital burden for the SMEs entrepreneurs involved in the MBG program.

“For example, they have already obtained SPK from BGN (National Nutrition Agency), later directly from the relevant bank to top it up to their respective accounts to be able to shop or buy capital for nutritional needs,” he said.

He plans next week, the Ministry of SMEs will invite the banks, together with the National Nutrition Agency, to negotiate the provision of capital facilities to SMEs involved in the MBG program.

“To be able to finalize it,” he said.

Furthermore, Maman did not specify the detailed requirements for MSMEs who want to participate in MBG. However, he ensures that MBG produced from MSMEs is maintained in its quality.

“There is, for sure, this will be later than BGN prepares the conditions. The key is to produce a good quality product. And not to charge also to MSMEs,” he said.

The MSME mechanism for MBG is ensured under the authority of BGN. The Ministry of SMEs only provides support, training, and access to capital financing.

“It's all full under the National Nutrition Board. Our Ministry of MSMEs is supportive and in this regard helps access to financing. Then the second performs monitoring and facilitators to maintain the quality of products and trainings to MSMEs,” Maman said.
