“This activity aims to equip participants with basic skills and knowledge in the hospitality industry, which is expected to improve the quality of tourism services in The Golo Mori area,” said General Manager of The Golo Mori, Wahyuaji Munarwiyanto in a written statement in Jakarta, Sunday (13/10/2024).

Wahyu said this training is an effort to support the development of Golo Mori area as a prime destination for the Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition (MICE) sector in Eastern Indonesia. With this training, Wahyu hopes that participants can play an active role in improving the competitiveness of tourist destinations, especially in organizing events on a national and international scale.

“We are very excited about the implementation of this hospitality training, which is an important step in the development of local Human Resources (HR) capacity to support GMCC operations,” Wahyu said.

Wahyu hopes that the people of Golo Mori Village, especially the trainees, can master basic skills in the hospitality industry. Thus, the community can play an active role and contribute directly in realizing GMCC as the leading MICE destination in Eastern Indonesia.

Wahyu explains that the training program is comprehensively designed, consisting of theory and practice sessions covering a wide range of important topics in the hospitality industry, such as introduction to hospitality practices, guest service etiquette, grooming and personal hygiene, ethics and manners, restaurant operational management, use of tableware, and housekeeping, as well as the basics of kitchen operations.

In addition, participants are also given practical knowledge regarding table setting and food service, as well as the role and responsibilities of stewards.

“As part of the efforts to develop Golo Mori Convention Center (GMCC) into a center of excellence in MICE activities, ITDC recognizes the importance of improving human resources competence in the field of hospitality,” Wahyu continued.

For this reason, Wahyu said, ITDC held training aimed at local people to be able to contribute to GMCC's operations. With the implementation of this hospitality training, Wahyu said, ITDC showed its commitment in empowering the local community of Golo Mori and preparing them to be actively involved in supporting the development of the region as a premier MICE destination.

Through improved skills and knowledge in the hospitality sector, Wahyu hopes that participants can contribute to providing high quality services. It aims to strengthen the competitiveness of The Golo Mori on the national and international scene.

“This step is an important part of ITDC's long-term strategy to build a sustainable tourism ecosystem in Eastern Indonesia,” Wahyu said.
