REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Artist Saipul Jamil admitted he did not know that his assistant named Steven (25) was a drug user. This was revealed in a press conference in Tambora Police Station, West Jakarta, on Saturday (6/1/2024).
“With events like this, I am grateful. It turns out that people near me are indicated for drugs. At first I didn't know,” Saipul said.
Saipul claimed he could not believe that his personal assistant was a drug user. Moreover, in his eyes, Steven was well-behaved.
“So I also couldn't believe that my personal assistant was a drug user. He never disappoints during his work, he is an honest, sincere person,” Saipul said.
Saipul said he had learned lessons from the case. He will be more selective when choosing an assistant.
“That's why here I have to be careful now choosing friends, choosing prospective workers. Had to be really selective because the one I thought was good turned out like this,” he said.
