REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) projected break fasting (iftar) or sohoor in Ramadan season would be bussiness opportunities for hotels.
Adyatama Kepariwisataan dan Ekonomi Kreatif Ahli Utama Kemenparekraf Nia Niscaya said, hotels could seize the opportunity to Muslims who wanted to iftar, suhoor, or do taraweeh prayers together. Because hotels have spacious rooms to accomodate people gather at a same time.
She also recommend hotels to give discount or price flexibility to attract costumers to stay. In that way, hotels are able to pay their operation costs.
"I guess discount and price flexibility would attracted specific targeted market," Nia said.
Seasonally in Ramadan, hotel occupancy rate would be low, especially hotels in big cities like Jakarta. It was because tourists visit were also declining.
