REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Secretary General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Hasto Kristiyanto said that Bobby Nasution is no longer a cadre of his party. Thus, he ensured that the PDIP will not support or support the son-in-law of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the 2024 elections in North Sumatra.

“Of course (not carrying Bobby). Because the political line is different,” Hasto said at Rumah Makan Batik Kuring, Jakarta, Sunday (7/4/2024).

PDIP itself is networking a number of names in preparation for the 2024 elections. One of them is in North Sumatra taking into account the aspirations of the community.

“We see the character of the people of North Sumatra who are very critical. The people of North Sumatra are very egalitarian. So only with the support of power it does not become a guarantee,” Hasto said.

Golkar Party General Chairman Airlangga Hartarto said that Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution will be the cadre of the party emblazoned with a banyan tree. This was stated after Bobby attended the briefing event for the Golkar Party regional chief candidates on Saturday (6/4/2024).

Airlangga initially said that 1,164 of the local chief candidates present at today's briefing were all Golkar Party cadres. When asked the membership status of Bobby Nasution who is a former PDIP cadre, Airlangga mentioned he would soon become a Golkar cadre.

“(Bobby) will be given or decided to become a cadre at a later time,” Airlangga told reporters after giving directions to prospective regional chief candidates at the Golkar Party DPP office in West Jakarta on Saturday.
