REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) places vending machines (vending machines) equipped with QR code payment at every corner of the station. This machine is presented to reduce queues at peak hours.
“We will implement this ticket printing machine by the end of May 2024,” said the Director of Operations and Maintenance of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Mega Tarigan at the Dukuh Atas Transport Hub Building in Jakarta on Monday (29/4/2024).
Mega targets this automatic ticket vending machine is installed in all Jakarta MRT stations. Currently the engine is only available at HI Roundabout Station.
It is hoped that the presence of this machine will make the community more flexible to be able to enter MRT simply by attaching the QR code display to the reader machine. The display of this QR code can later be shared via email and WhatsApp for mobile users.
“So later the user just has to open WA which has a QR Code and it is scanned into the reader machine at the station,” he explained.
The payment method on this machine can use credit/debit cards up to server-based QRIS payments. This ticketing digitization experience is aimed at facilitating a range of inclusive digital payments and accommodating everyday urban lifestyles for customers.
In 2025-2028, Jakarta MRT targets ticket payment via cards (electronic money cards and Jaklingko multi-mode) and data networks or servers (myMRTJ application, field communication/NFC), up to QR codes.
