REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Makkah, is basically a place of prayer that is required as a whole. But there are certain locations that have emphasis.
For example, there are three prayer areas that are considered the most necessary in the Masjid al-Haram, namely Hijr Ismail, Rukun Yamani, and Maqam Nabi Ibrahim.
Former Mufti of Egypt Sheikh Jum'ah elaborated, the Hijr Ismail refers to an area that sits under a gutter or aqueduct located at the top of the Kaaba.
However, Shaykh Jum'ah also stated that there is no evidence that definitively states that prayer in Hijr Ismail is a mustajab. Hijr Ismail is believed to be the most necessary place of prayer because many worshippers report their personal experiences. In other words, these beliefs are based more on the experience of worshippers.
