REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Inaugural meeting of the Committee Special (Pansus) Haji Angket of DPR RI regarding the implementation of the Hajj 2024 prayer service, which was originally held on Wednesday afternoon at 13.00 WIB, but was canceled and postponed.

Pansus Angket Haji DPR RI member Vishnu Wijaya said that the inaugural meeting will discuss the election of the pansus leadership, and the meeting will also be attended by the Leader of DPR RI.

“However, yesterday afternoon towards the evening there was information about the delay. Until when, we also asked the secretary-general to organize the agenda,” Vishnu said while giving a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (17/7/2024).

Before learning of the delay, he thought the members of Pansus Angket Haji had already moved towards Jakarta from their respective electoral districts (constituencies). As for the time being, it is still in the recess period of the Parliament of RI after the plenary meeting of the closing of the session.

“Because there was a series of working visits yesterday also in some regions, in some areas, we eagerly attended today's meeting invitation at 13.00 WIB,” he said.

So far, he suspected that the panel meeting could not be held because the Leader of DPR RI has not been able to attend the meeting. Nevertheless, he made sure that the members of the Hajj Pansus remained on alert in Jakarta to prepare for what will be discussed at the upcoming pansus meeting.

Earlier, the 21st Plenary Meeting of the Parliament of the Parliament of the Parliament of the Period V of the 2023 — 2024 Session in the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday (9/7/2024), approved the establishment of a Special Committee (Pansus) of the Hajj Supervision Committee.

The formation of the Pansus and its membership composition are in accordance with the current order, for which Pansus Members consist of PDI Perjuangan Faction (seven people), Golkar Party (4), Gerindra Party (4), Nasdem Party (3), Democratic Party (3), PKS (3), PAN (2), and PPP (1).

Deputy Speaker of DPR RI Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, at the time, said Pansus Angket Haji would work as soon as possible, including working during recess.
