REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CAIRO - Indonesia President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono during the 12th Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Conference in Cairo calls for a big measure to reach Palestinian liberation.

The President said the freedom of Palestine was still neglected. They live with little hope for the future, while, in the other hand, Israelis continue violate Palestinian rights.

"We have to do more. We can help Palestine strengthening its capacity as a state," SBY said representing Asian region, reported by Nasihin Masha from Republika.

SBY explained that Indonesia provided capacity building for 1,000 Palestinians. For the last five years, Indonesia has trained 842 Palestinian officials.

Even though the United Nations (UN) has elevated Palestine status from "non-member observer entity" to "non-member observer state, more diplomatic measures must be intensified to Palestinian rights.

Held for the first time in Egypt, OIC Conference with the theme "Muslim World: New Issues and Broadening Opportunities" is attended by 26 Heads of States and representatives from 29 countries.

Egyptian President Muhammad Mursi chairs the conference, while Nigerian President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan represents Africa and Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki represents Arab world.

(QS. An-Nisa' ayat 136)
