Wijaya Karya gets new contract worth 1.37 trillion IDR

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - A state-owned construction firm, PT Wijaya Karya, recently got a new contract to build Arun Gas Power Plant with a capacity of 200 mega watt (MW). The contract value is worth 81.180 million euros and 321.50 billion IDR.

Coorporate Secretary of Wijaya Karya, Natal Argawan said the project would last for 18 months since this middle of the year and was estimated to finish in January 2015.

"Scope of this project is mechanical, electrical, instrument and control, civil work and construction, and maintenance. Beside Arun Gas Power Plant, the company also signed a joint venture partnership with Indonesia Port Coorporation (IPC) or Pelindo and PT Hutama Karya," Argawan said on Saturday.

Such operation is development of the second package port of Belawan International Container Terminal (BICT) in Belawan, Medan, North Sumatra. This particular terminal will increase capacity of loading and unloading up to 400 thousand containers per year.
