REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Volunteers of Great Commander Sudirman Foundation (YPBS) cooperates with an NGO, Bangun Gotong Royong Jakarta (Bang Rojak) target 60 million signatures and photocopies of identity cards to support Governor of Jakarta, Joko Widodo (known as Jokowi) as a presidential candidate for 2014.

"Team of volunteers have opened a post to collect signatures in 10 major cities in Indonesia," Founder of Bang Rojak, Iwan Piliang said in Jakarta on Friday.

The support holds on August 2013 to February 2014 in 10 major cities in Indonesia namely Jakarta, Bandung (West Java), Yogyakarta, Semarang (Central Java), Surabaya (East Java), Denpasar (Bali), Medan (North Sumatra), Palembang (South Sumatra), Lampung and Makassar (South Sulawesi).

Earlier, YPBS volunteers targeted 45 million signatures and IDs. However, this target turns out to be 60 million with an assumption that supporters in 10 major cities will reach 31.94 percent of 187.8 million voters, according to data of voters list in General Election Commission.

Piliang said he was optimistic that amount of voters would reach 60 millions wiwthin six mounth. So, there would no reason for any political party not to nominate Jokowi as presidential candidate. Piliang added that this volunteer team was a public act that was formed spontaneously.
